Backup Destination

Key:

Field Description
Name Name of the backup destination.
Type Backup destination type, either Single storage destination or Destination pool.
Destination storage Backup destination storage which can be set to Local / Mapped Drive / Network Drive / Removable Drive, Cloud storage or FTP/SFTP. Selection varies depending on your backup module.
Key ID The key ID provided by Backblaze.
Application Key The application key provided by Backblaze.
Bucket Name The name of the storage bucket for Backblaze.
Here are some basic rules for creating the bucket name:
  1. The bucket name should contains all lower case letter, number and hyphen.
  2. The bucket name should start and end with lower case letter or number.
  3. The length of the bucket name should be within 3 to 63 characters.
Access the Internet through Proxy Check this option if your site uses a Proxy Server to access the internet.

To create a backup destination for Backblaze:

  1. If you do not have a Backblaze account, please click on the link 'Sign up for Backblaze' to create an account.
  2. Enter name of the backup destination.
  3. Select 'Single storage destination' under [Type].
  4. Select 'Backblaze' from the [Destination storage] drop down box.
  5. Enter the Key ID for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  6. Enter the Application Key for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  7. Option: Enter the Bucket Name for the storage.
  8. Option: Check the 'Access the Internet through proxy' check box if you need to access the internet by proxy server.
  9. Option: Click the [Test] button to connect to the storage. Message will be prompted about the connection status. If the connection has failed, check on the Key ID and Application Key that you typed and try the connection again.
  10. Click [OK] to add a new destination.

To modify the Backblaze settings:

  1. Configure a meaningful backup destination name if necessary.
  2. The destination storage cannot be modified. If you need another backup destination, you need to create a new backup destination.
  3. Configure information according to your requirement.
  4. Click [OK] once done to save.

To create a destination pool using local storage:

  1. Enter name of the backup destination pool.
  2. Select 'Destination pool' under [Type].
  3. Click [+] to add a new storage destination.
  4. Enter the name of the backup destination.
  5. Select 'Backblaze' from the [Destination storage] drop down box.
  6. Enter the Key ID for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  7. Enter the Application Key for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  8. Option: Enter the Bucket Name for the storage.
  9. Option: Check the 'Access the Internet through proxy' check box if you need to access the internet by proxy server.
  10. Option: Click the [Test] button to connect to the storage. Message will be prompted about the connection status. If the connection has failed, check on the Key ID and Application Key that you typed and try the connection again.
  11. Click [OK] to add a new destination.
  12. Repeat the above steps to add a new backup destination to the pool.
  13. Once all the backup destination has been added, click [OK] to save the destination pool.
