Backup Destination

Key:

Field Description
Name Name of the backup destination.
Type Backup destination type, either Single storage destination or Destination pool.
Destination storage Backup storage destination type. 'Local', 'FTP' and other cloud storage can be selected.
Storage Account Name The storage account name provided by Microsoft Azure.
Access Key The access key provided by Microsoft Azure.
Region There are 4 different regions available for Microsoft Azure. They are:
  • Global
  • China
  • Germany
  • US Government
Access the Internet through proxy Check this option if your site uses a proxy server to access the Internet.

To create a backup destination for Microsoft Azure:

  1. Enter name of the backup destination.
  2. Select 'Single storage destination' under [Type].
  3. Select 'Microsoft Azure' from the [Destination storage] drop down box.
  4. Enter the storage account name for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  5. Enter the access key for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  6. Select the region.
  7. Option: Check the 'Access the Internet through proxy' check box, if you need to access the Internet by proxy server.
  8. Option: Click the [Test] button to connect to the storage. Message will be prompted about the connection status. If the connection has failed, check on the storage account name and access key that you typed and try the connection again.
  9. Click [OK] to add the new destination.

To modify the Microsoft Azure settings:

  1. Change the backup destination name if necessary.
  2. The destination storage cannot be modified. If you need another backup destination, you need to create a new backup destination.
  3. Configure information according to your requirement.
  4. Click [OK] once done to save.

To create a destination pool using Microsoft Azure:

  1. Enter name of the backup destination pool.
  2. Select 'Destination pool' under [Type].
  3. Click [+] to add a new storage destination.
  4. Enter the name of the backup destination.
  5. Select 'Microsoft Azure' from the [Destination storage] drop down box.
  6. Enter the storage account name for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  7. Enter the access key for the storage. (Suggested to copy and paste the key to avoid typographical errors.)
  8. Select the region.
  9. Option: Check the 'Access the Internet through proxy' check box, if you need to access the Internet by proxy server.
  10. Option: Click the [Test] button to connect to the storage. Message will be prompted about the connection status. If the connection has failed, check on the storage account name and access key that you typed and try the connection again.
  11. Click [OK] to add the new destination.
  12. Repeat the above steps to add a new backup destination to the pool.
  13. Once all the backup destination has been added, click [OK] to save the destination pool.

The destination pool may not be available. This depends on the settings of your backup service provider. Please contact your backup service provider for more information.
