Backup Destination

Key:

Field Description
Name Name of the backup destination.
Type Backup destination type, either Single storage destination or Destination pool.
Destination storage Backup destination storage which can be set to Local / Mapped Drive / Network Drive / Removable Drive, Cloud storage or FTP/SFTP. Selection varies depending on your backup module.
Host Host name/IP for the FTP server.
Port The connecting port for the FTP service.
Username User login name to access the FTP server.
Password Password to access the FTP server.
FTP directory to store backup data The directory on the FTP server.
Connect with SSL/TLS Check this option if you want your connection to and from your site be encrypted and cannot be intercepted by a third party.
Access the Internet through proxy Check this option if your site uses a proxy server to access the Internet.


To create a backup destination for FTP:

  1. Enter name of the backup destination.
  2. Select 'Single storage destination' under [Type].
  3. Select 'FTP' from the [Destination storage] drop down box.
  4. Enter the host.
  5. Enter the port.
  6. Enter the username.
  7. Enter the password.
  8. Option: Enter the FTP directory.
  9. Option: Check the 'Connect with SSL/TLS' check box, if you have SSL connection with the FTP service.
  10. Option: Check the 'Access the Internet through proxy' check box, if you need to access the Internet by proxy server.
  11. Option: Click the [Test] button to connect to the storage. Message will be prompted about the connection status. If the connection has failed, check on the username, password, hostname and port number that you typed and try the connection again.
  12. Click [OK] to add the new destination.

To modify the FTP settings:

  1. Change the backup destination name if necessary.
  2. The destination storage cannot be modified. If you need another backup destination, you need to create a new backup destination.
  3. Configure information according to your requirement.
  4. Click [OK] once done to save.

To create a destination pool using FTP:

  1. Enter name of the backup destination pool.
  2. Select 'Destination pool' under [Type].
  3. Click [+] to add a new storage destination.
  4. Enter the name of the backup destination.
  5. Select 'FTP' from the [Destination storage] drop down box.
  6. Enter the host.
  7. Enter the port.
  8. Enter the username.
  9. Enter the password.
  10. Option: Enter the FTP directory.
  11. Option: Check the 'Connect with SSL/TLS' check box, if you have SSL connection with the FTP service.
  12. Option: Check the 'Access the Internet through proxy' check box, if you need to access the Internet by proxy server.
  13. Option: Click the [Test] button to connect to the storage. Message will be prompted about the connection status. If the connection has failed, check on the username, password, hostname and port number that you typed and try the connection again.
  14. Click [OK] to add the new destination.
  15. Repeat the above steps to add a new backup destination to the pool.
  16. Once all the backup destination has been added, click [OK] to save the destination pool.
