Set the backup destination

The backup destination is the backup storage location where your files are backed up to. The storage location can be your cloud storage, SFTP server or your local hard disk.

Field Description
Backup mode There are 2 backup modes, namely sequential and concurrent.
  • Select "Sequential", the backup will backup the data on the selected destination one after another.
  • Select "Concurrent", the backup job will backup to the selected destination at the same time.
Maximum concurrent backup destinations For "Concurrent" backup mode only. To limit the number of concurrent backup destinations to be run at the same time.
Existing storage destination The list of storage destinations where you can save your backup. The available options may vary depending on the configuration of your backup service provider. Contact them for further information.

  1. Concurrent backup requires more resources on your computer as the backup is running in parallel to all the selected backup storage locations. While the backup time of sequential backup would take longer because only one backup job is running at a time.
  2. When you are planning to set up a destination pool, it is highly recommended to set the storage on cloud or storage with redundant drive setup. If your destination pool contains storage destination with no redundant drive setup, it will increase the risk of unrecoverable data lost.
  3. It is recommended to discontinue use of Microsoft OneDrive and Microsoft OneDrive for Business in a destination pool. This is due to Microsoft limitations with their API. For more information, contact your backup service provider.


To setup the backup destination option:

  1. Select the mode of the backup, either 'Concurrent' or 'Sequential'
  2. If you choose 'Concurrent', select the maximum number of destinations.
  3. Click on the [Add] button to add a backup destination.
  4. Configure a meaningful backup destination name if necessary.
  5. Select the type of destination storage.
  6. Selec the destination storage from the drop-down list.
  7. Enter the information required for logon to the storage location.
  8. Click [OK] to continue.
  9. Click [Save] to save the changes.


To modify an existing backup destination:

  1. Click on the backup destination name.
  2. Modify the backup destination name if necessary.
  3. The type of the destination storage cannot be modified. If you need another type of backup destination, you need to create a new type of backup destination.
  4. Configure the login information if required.
  5. Click [OK] to continue.
  6. Click [Save] to save the changes.

If the destination storage is deleted, all the backup data will also be destroyed.
