Create Backup Set

Backup Requirements

Please ensure that the following requirements are met by the MySQL server.

  1. MySQL server is installed on this computer.
  2. Data selected for backup will be temporarily spooled to a temp directory before being uploaded to the backup server.
    3. Please ensure that the temporary directory configured for the backup have sufficient disk space for the backup operation.
  3. A MySQL user with ALL PRIVILEGES must be prepared for the backup operation.

    For example:

    mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'username'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
    mysql> GRANT ALL PRIVILEGES ON *.* TO 'username'@'localhost.localdomain' IDENTIFIED BY 'password';
    mysql> FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
  4. The 'information_schema' database is a virtual system database, which contains information about the user databases on the MySQL instance.

    It is read-only and cannot be backed up.


Set the name of the backup set

Name The name of the backup set.
Backup set type The backup set type, e.g. MySQL Backup
Login ID The username of the MySQL system account. Default is root user.
Password The password for the system login.
Host The host of the MySQL server. Default is localhost.
Port The listening port of the MySQL server. Default is 3306.
Path to mysqldump The path of the mysqldump file.

To create a backup set name:

  1. Type in a meaningful backup set name.
  2. Select the backup set type.
  3. Enter the Login ID.
  4. Enter the password.
  5. Enter the host.
  6. Enter the port.
  7. Enter the path of the mysqldump, click on [Change] to change the path of the mysqldump file.
  8. Click [Next] button to continue.

    9. Note: Click [Next] button again to start the verifying process
